On November 8, the light component tower of the 120kt/a 1,4-butanediol (BDO) unit—the core facility of the Qingyang Tongxin 500kt/a light hydrocarbon deep processing project—was successfully hoisted into place. The project is EPC-contracted by China Wuhuan Engineering Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of China National Chemical Engineering.
Utilizing advanced processes such as alkane mixed dehydrogenation, the project achieves a comprehensive resource utilization rate of 98%. It uses low-efficiency liquefied gas, mixed hydrocarbons, ethylene, and other clean resources as raw materials to deeply develop the C3 and C4 industrial chains.
The light component tower, which was hoisted during this operation, serves as the core separation equipment of the 1,4-butanediol unit. With a diameter of 2.2 meters and a total height of 34.5 meters—equivalent to the height of a 15-story building—it is rightly referred to as a "steel giant."
