Recently, the core equipment of China's first 400kt/a LAO unit—the high-purity C4 and C6 product towers, developed by Dalian Heavy Industry Equipment Group—successfully passed the factory acceptance inspection at the Dalian Jinzhong High-end Petrochemical Equipment Intelligent Manufacturing Base and was shipped to the customer site via sea transport.
As a key raw material for producing high-end polyolefins, lubricant base oils, and new energy materials, the manufacturing level of LAO unit core equipment directly determines raw material purity and operational safety. The project includes six core high-pressure thick-walled pressure vessels, such as reactors and towers, which feature unique product structures and pose significant manufacturing challenges. The three reactors have a diameter of 2.4 meters and a shell thickness of 122 mm, designed to withstand long-term high-pressure conditions. The high-purity C4 and C6 product towers each have a diameter of 2 meters and a total length exceeding 70 meters. The BDL washing tower measures 2.9 meters in diameter, with a shell thickness of 142 mm and a total length of 17 meters. These specifications not only push beyond the limits of traditional domestic manufacturing processes but also achieve advanced international standards for similar equipment.
