On October 26, PetroChina Guangxi Petrochemical Company (hereinafter referred to as Guangxi Petrochemical) officially fed materials into its 1.2 mt/a ethylene plant. Qualified products were produced in the early morning of October 27, marking the successful first start-up of the plant.
It is reported that the plant is undertaken by Huanqiu Engineering Co., Ltd. as the general contractor and adopts the large-scale ethylene complete set process technology with independent intellectual property rights of PetroChina. It can produce 1.2 million tons of polymer-grade ethylene, 616,000 tons of polymer-grade propylene, 400,000 tons of hydrogenated gasoline and 35,000 tons of styrene annually. In addition, it also produces more than 20 kinds of chemical raw materials, products and semi-finished products as by-products, including hydrogen, cracked C5, C9 and cracked fuel oil.
After the plant is put into operation, it can help Guangxi Petrochemical reduce oil product output by 3.49 million tons and increase chemical product output by 3.06 million tons per year. Among these products, high-end membrane materials and pipe materials will directly fill the domestic supply gap and alleviate the structural contradiction of China's petrochemical industry, which is characterized by "excessive oil products, insufficient chemical products and lack of high-end products".
