On August 12, two core oversized equipment units—the quench oil tower and caustic wash tower—manufactured by ZHJ (Suzhou) Heavy Equipment Co., Ltd. for the CNOOC and Shell Petrochemicals Company Phase III Ethylene Project in Huizhou were shipped and delivered. This marks a significant milestone in the progress of the project.
The delivered caustic wash tower, with a diameter of 5.5 meters, a total length of 64.1 meters, and a total weight of 573 tons, will undertake the critical task of being the first major lifting operation in the project. The quench oil tower, the largest-diameter equipment in the project, measures 13.5 meters in diameter, 70.7 meters in length, and weighs 1,621 tons. As an ultra-large-diameter thin-walled equipment, the manufacturing team at ZHJ achieved exceptional precision by controlling the ellipticity of the 13.5-meter-diameter cylinder within 20 mm and ensuring the levelness of the full-circle internal tray welding components did not exceed 5 mm.
