The Carbon Capture Plant Heat Pump Project of CNPC is located in Baijian Tan District, Karamay City. The carbon capture plant uses chemical absorption to capture low-concentration flue gas emitted from coal-fired power generation and liquefy the captured carbon dioxide after pressure increase, which is used for oil displacement to improve oil recovery rate, achieve carbon sequestration, and accelerate the construction of clean, low-carbon, and sustainable new energy systems in the region.
The project adopts a screw-type steam heat pump compressor unit with a gas treatment capacity of up to 75 tons per hour. After the project is put into operation, it is expected that 43,800 tons of standard coal will be saved annually and 107.6 thousand tons of carbon dioxide emissions will be reduced, with significant economic benefits.
