Recently, the 1.2 mt/a ethylene plant of Jilin Petrochemical Company has achieved mechanical completion, marking a phased victory in the project's construction. The project was fully launched in February 2022 and is scheduled to be completed and handed over for operation in batches from 2024 to 2025. Once the project reaches full production capacity and efficiency, it will be capable of achieving a total annual output of 5.28 million tons of chemical products.
The total investment of this project is 33.9 billion yuan. It will build 21 sets of oil refining and chemical facilities, including a 1.2 mt/a ethylene plant and a 600kt/a ABS plant. Among them, the 1.2 mt/a ethylene plant is the key core facility, which can produce 1.2 million tons of polymer-grade ethylene and 587,000 tons of polymer-grade propylene annually. After the plant is put into operation, the total ethylene production capacity of Jilin Petrochemical will reach 1.9 mt/a, and its ethylene production capacity and chemical scale will reach the advanced level in China.
