The project has a total contract value of $2.24 billion and is scheduled to be completed and put into operation in 2028. The project is executed by a joint venture between the engineering and construction company and Spain's TR Company to provide EPC and start-up services.
This project is a key project for expanding oil and gas production in Saudi Arabia. The site is located in the Jafurah natural gas field area in the eastern province of Saudi Arabia, which is the largest unconventional natural gas field in Saudi Arabia with an estimated gas reserve of 566 trillion cubic feet. The main construction content of the project is to build three new gas compression plants (GCPs) (HAZEM-6, THRY-5, and THRY-9), with a single GCP's processing capacity of 200 MMSCFD (200 million standard cubic feet per day), including gas pre-treatment, gas compression, and produced water treatment facilities, as well as supporting utility facilities.
