Recently, a joint venture formed by Sinopec and Spanish company Tecnicas Reunidas (TR) was awarded a contract by the National Oil and Gas Company of Kazakhstan to develop a large-scale cracking unit.
The total investment for the project is 2.3 billion euros, with Sinopec and TR each contributing 50%.
The project is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2028 and is part of the Kazakhstan Polyethylene Production Complex project. The unit will utilize natural gas to produce ethylene products with an annual capacity of 1.3 million tons.
