The project will be built by Wanhua Chemical Group Co., LTD., located in Yantai Chemical Industry Park Wanhua Yantai Industrial Park, Shandong Province, will build 100,000 tons/year high-end alpha olefin production equipment and supporting public works and auxiliary facilities.
The project includes 1.2mt/a ethylene cracking unit (including 90,000 cubic meters/hour PSA), 550,000 tons/year cracking gasoline hydrogenation unit (including 30kt/a benzene zene extraction unit), 400kt/a aromatics extraction unit, 200kt/a butadiene unit, 250kt/a LDPE unit, 2x200kt/a POE device and other 7 sets of devices. Production is expected to begin in 2024.
High-end alpha-olefin (1-octene, 1-hexene) has a low circulation and is in short supply in the market, which is widely used in Wanhua's existing production plants. The product depends on the high cost of outsourcing, inconvenient transportation and service, supply shortage and other factors, affecting the stable operation of the device, so it is necessary to carry out high-end α-olefin (1-octene, 1-hexene) construction. After the completion of this project, Wanhua can reduce a large number of high-end alpha-olefin outsourcing costs every year, reduce the external constraints on the operation of the production plant, and achieve a stable supply of related raw materials.
