Hengli (Huizhou) PTA project with a total investment of 15 billion yuan, is the first project of Hengli Group layout in South China. The project adopts industry-leading green and intelligent PTA production process technology, focusing on the construction of 5 million tons/year PTA plant (two 2.5 mt/a PTA production lines) and auxiliary facilities, with "large investment scale, strong production capacity, high process level, low energy consumption" and other characteristics.
Hengli (Huizhou) PTA project signed an investment cooperation agreement on August 13, 2020, and officially started construction on January 7, 2021. Since settling in Daya Bay, Daya Bay Development Zone has set up a special working class to assist enterprises to seize the time node, keep an eye on the task objectives, and refine various elements to ensure the safe and smooth progress of the project. On March 18 this year, the first PTA production line of Hengli (Huizhou) Industrial Park was successfully put into operation at one time, and successfully produced qualified products the next day.
PTA (terephthalic acid) is the core link in the industrial chain. For example, PTA reacts with ethylene glycol to produce polyester (PET), which can be processed into fibers, films and plastic products, and is widely used in packaging industry, electronic appliances, medical and health care, construction, automobiles and other fields.
