Recently, the construction of the Silleno Polyethylene Project in Atyrau, Kazakhstan, undertaken by China National Chemical Engineering No.2 Construction Corporation, has officially commenced.
Located in Atyrau, an important city in western Kazakhstan, the project involves a total investment of approximately 7.7 billion US dollars, with a designed annual polyethylene output of 1.25 million tons. It is scheduled to be completed and put into operation in 2029.
Upon commissioning, the project will effectively meet 90% of Kazakhstan’s domestic polyethylene market demand. Its products will be supplied to China, Europe and many other countries and regions. It is of great significance for improving the petrochemical industrial chain in Central Asia and facilitating the regional circulation of energy and chemical trade.
