On July 15, the ExxonMobil Huizhou Ethylene Project, constructed by the Refining and Chemical Engineering Group, officially commenced operations!
This project marks the first large-scale petrochemical project solely funded by a foreign enterprise in China and represents the world's largest-capacity chemical complex.
The project includes: A flexible-feed steam cracker unit with an annual capacity of 1.6 million tons of ethylene; Two high-performance linear low-density polyethylene (LLDPE) units, each with an annual capacity of 1.2 million tons; The world’s largest single-train low-density polyethylene (LDPE) unit with an annual capacity of 500,000 tons; Two differentiated high-performance polypropylene units, each with an annual capacity of 950,000 tons.
The premium chemical products manufactured at this project will effectively meet domestic market demand.
