On May 8, China Petroleum Daqing Petrochemical’s 170kt/a catalytic dry gas C2 recovery project successfully completed its intermediate handover, entering the production preparation phase ahead of schedule.
The facility employs a single-stage PSA (Pressure Swing Adsorption) process to recover C2 components from the dry gas of two catalytic cracking units in the refining area. These components are then delivered to the E2 and E3 units in the chemical zone as supplementary feedstock, while the adsorbed off-gas byproduct is fed into the fuel gas pipeline network for combustion. Upon commissioning, the project is expected to produce 71,000 tons of ethylene-rich gas annually, significantly improving ethylene product yield, reducing energy consumption, and further enhancing the company’s profitability and product competitiveness.
