Recently, four key installations of Maoming Petrochemical's oil refining transformation and upgrading as well as ethylene quality improvement project officially commenced construction.
The newly launched projects include: 500kt/a No.1 Cracking Gasoline Hydrogenation Unit, 300kt/a No.2 Aromatic Extraction Unit, a 150kt/a MTBE Unit, 140kt/a No.3 Butadiene Unit.
These installations are respectively contracted under EPC general contracts by Nanjing Engineering Company, Changling Refining & Chemical Yueyang Engineering Co., Ltd., Shanghai Engineering Company, and Maoming Ruipai Petrochemical Engineering Company.
The project's construction scale and main contents include:Implementing adaptive revamps for the refining section without adding new refining capacity, while phasing out and decommissioning the existing 360kt/a ethylene facility. This will be replaced by constructing new 1mt/a ethylene production units along with downstream deep-processing facilities.
