The total project of the air separation station for the second phase of 120kt/a ethylene in Tarim of Dunhuang Petrochemical Company, which was contracted by Kunlun Engineering, has officially started construction. The project has entered a new stage of substantive construction.
It is reported that the Tarim Phase II ethylene project of Dunhuang Petrochemical Company of PetroChina mainly separates ethane from natural gas and then produces ethylene through ethane cracking. The project has been approved with an investment of 21.88 billion yuan. It will rely on the rich oil and gas resources in the Tari Mu Basin to build 11 main production units such as 120kt/a ethylene, two sets of 45kt/a high-density polyethylene, and 30kt/a low-density polyethylene. The self-owned technology application rate exceeds 99%, and the equipment domestication rate exceeds 98%.
