In December 2024, the 1.6mt/a ethylene unit of the first phase of the Ethylene Project in Huizhou, Xiamen Petrochemical, will be completed and enter the commissioning stage.
The Ethylene Project in Huizhou, Xiamen Petrochemical is one of the major foreign investment projects in the country, with a total investment of about $10 billion and divided into two phases. The project is located in the Dapu Bay Petrochemical Industrial Zone in Huizhou, and the first phase includes a flexible feed steam cracking unit with an annual output of 1.6 million tons of ethylene, as well as two sets of annual output of a total of 1.2 million tons of high-performance linear low-density polyethylene (LLDPE) units, the world's largest single-unit annual output of 0.5 million tons of low-density polyethylene (LDPE) unit, and two sets of annual output of a total of 0.95 million tons of differentiated high-performance polypropylene (PP) units, as well as a heavy cargo wharf and other supporting projects.
After the completion of the first phase project, it is expected to achieve an annual revenue of 39 billion yuan.
