Exxonmobil Huizhou Ethylene Project is one of the national major foreign investment projects, located in Huizhou Daya Bay Petrochemical Park. The total investment of the project is more than 10 billion US dollars, and it is planned to be constructed in two phases.

Exxonmobil Huizhou Ethylene Project is a world-class chemical complex project with competitive advantages. The project includes a flexible feed steam cracker with an annual output of 1.6 million tons of ethylene, as well as two high-performance linear low-density polyethylene plants with a combined annual output of 1.2 million tons, one of the world's largest monomer low-density polyethylene plants with an annual output of 500,000 tons and two differentiated high-performance polypropylene plants with a combined annual output of 950,000 tons.

In April 2020, the "Cloud start" ceremony was held simultaneously in three places in China and the United States.

On November 16, 2021, ExxonMobil Huizhou Ethylene Project comprehensive construction activities were held simultaneously in Daya Bay, Huizhou, Beijing, and Houston in the United States by on-site +5G video connection. This marks the beginning of the full formal construction phase of the project.

On February 15, 2023, the Daya Bay Research and Development Center of ExxonMobil Huizhou Ethylene Project officially broke ground. The research and development center is planned to be built in two phases, one of which began on February 15, and is scheduled to complete civil and mechanical completion by the end of 2024 and become operational in 2025. The research and Development Center is ExxonMobil's first comprehensive research and development center outside its North American headquarters with pilot plants, integrated product development and process development, primarily to meet the growing market and technology needs of the Asia Pacific region.

After the completion of the project, it will inject strong impetus into the high-quality construction of world-class green petrochemical industry base in Huizhou, and create a trillion-level petrochemical energy new material industrial cluster, and also provide support for the development of world-class green petrochemical industry cluster in Guangdong.
