On September 6, five heavy trucks loaded with longitudinally submerged arc welded steel pipes and hot-bent pipes for pure hydrogen transport were dispatched to the construction site of the pure hydrogen pipeline demonstration project in Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province. This marks the first batch of steel pipe products in China applied to long-distance pure hydrogen pipelines, representing a milestone in the development of hydrogen storage and transportation technology.
The research and development team successfully tackled challenges such as high-precision progressive forming control technology for longitudinally submerged arc welded steel pipes, the selection of welding materials and process matching technology, and heat treatment technology for bent pipes. They developed longitudinally submerged arc welded pipes and hot-bent pipe products that meet the requirements of the demonstration project, fully mastering the core manufacturing technology for longitudinally submerged arc welded steel pipes used in long-distance pure hydrogen pipelines. Strict testing confirmed that the products' performance indicators all comply with the technical specifications of the demonstration project, making them suitable for industrial application.
