Recently, critical progress was achieved in the 15mt/a atmospheric and vacuum distillation unit—the flagship facility of the Huajin Aramco Fine Chemicals and Raw Materials Project. The convection sections of the unit’s two core atmospheric heaters were hoisted into place, marking the completion of the main installation of the atmospheric heaters.
The 15mt/a atmospheric and vacuum distillation unit of the Huajin Aramco Project is China’s largest atmospheric and vacuum distillation facility employing two-stage deep vacuum distillation technology. It performs crude oil pretreatment and primary separation, providing raw materials for downstream processing, and serves as the project’s lead unit.
The two atmospheric heaters were constructed using a modular approach, with each comprising a radiation section, convection section, and waste heat recovery flue module. The newly installed convection section module measures 30 meters long, 20 meters wide, and 18 meters high, with a total weight exceeding 840 tons.
